Assessment |
Invitation Questions You can use this resource to assess children’s invitation writing. The questions have been matched to the QCA short task assessment criteria, which are sorted into the two headings: A: Sentence Structure and Punctuation B: Composition and Effect The assessment questions are divided into four
bands so that if you want to level the writing you can use the QCA marking
scheme. The marks are scored as follows:

at this stage we would recommend that it would be more
productive to use this information for formative purposes and use the
questions to identify some learning targets for individual children. E.g. add more detail about time / place; add
more detail about characters etc |
