QCF Level 3 Award in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools
This Level 3 programme is delivered over 4-6 months. Candidates attend four face to face workshops to cover the Knowledge units of the qualification. Successful completion of the programme leads to QCF Level 3 Award in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools.
What is QCF?
The Qualification and Credits Framework (QCF) is the new national standard framework for vocational qualifications and replaces NVQ programmes. The units for this qualification have been developed by TDA (now the Teaching Agency) in line with TA occupational standards.
Who is this course for?
Teaching Assistants / Learning Support Assistants / Cover Supervisors
This course is suitable for those whose working role requires competence across a varied range of responsibilities such as curriculum resources, cover supervision, extra-curricular activities or supporting pupils with additional needs.

There are 4 knowledge workshops which will assessed by completing a workbook for each unit

Understand How to Safeguard the Wellbeing of Children and Young People
Assessment
Candidates are required to demonstrate competence in all units. Assessment is by a combination of attendance at knowledge unit workshops and completing written workbooks and eLearning tasks.
Course Tutor
Phil Howarth BSc PGCE, with over 35 years teaching experience, is the course tutor for the Knowledge unit workshops. Upon enrolment we will allocate a qualified assessor to support you in school. All staff have appropriate Assessor qualifications, occupational experience and current CRB checks.
