In this section you will find ideas, information and literacy activities for children aged up to 3 years.
You are your child’s first and most important teacher. There are lots of things you can do to help your child with reading:
I just love this book!
• Teach nursery rhymes.

• Read and tell stories.

• Show your child where you start reading and which way the print goes (left to right and top to bottom)

•Use the words; page, front cover, top and bottom of the page.

• Talk about the stories and the characters and encourage your child to ask questions.

• Don't worry if your child wants to read the same book over and over again.

• Point out street signs and notices in shops.

• Talk about the letters in your child’s name

• Play “I spy”

• Let your child see that reading is enjoyable
.
This is the tale of a duck in a truck-a truck that gets stuck in the muck.
With the sheep in a jeep, a goat in a boat and the frog in a bush
who all try to push that truck -still stuck!

A rhyming tale that's sure to be a great success
with its humour and wonderful illustrations.
