The pack contains a set of questions to ask about pupils' writing that will help you assess the level being achieved as well as indicate future learning objectives. This useful resource is mapped to the new QCA writing assessment levels. It is an invaluable resource, whether you want to use it for SATs preparation for Y2 pupils or to teach Invitation writing to Years 1 to 3.
The first invitation includes the basic information that should be included in an invitation. Whereas Bear's letter contains much more detail and attempts to persuade.
The 2004 QCA short task for writing requires KS1 pupils to write an invitation using a character from a book.
Room on a Broom, available as a 'big book', is an amusing rhyming text. It provides an excellent starting point for pupils to invite different characters to go for a ride on the broomstick.
